Roundup River Ranch
Located in the heart of Colorado, Roundup River Ranch (formerly OK Corral Camp) seeks to enrich the lives of children living with chronic or life-threatening illnesses by providing camping experiences, with appropriate medical support, that are fun, memorable, safe and empowering. This special place is located in the heart of the Rockies along the banks of the Colorado River. The camp will reach beyond illness, giving children a sense of accomplishment, control and self-confidence. Traditional camping activities such as boating and fishing, arts and crafts, horseback riding, archery and swimming are structured to allow campers to experience success, no matter what their medical condition.
For several years, the Ranch's Board of Directors have been spearheading an extraordinary effort to build the camp (which will always be free of charge) -- from locating a suitable piece of land to lion-hearted efforts securing the necessary funds to plan, build and operate the new facility.
The Children’s Hospital of Denver is Roundup River Ranch's founding partner hospital. The Ranch also works with the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps, the world’s largest family of camps for children with serious illnesses. Hole in the Wall Camps are the dream of the late actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman, who started the first camp in 1988 and who was, until his death, the driving force behind their existence.
